Butter Dish (Baker)

This Batter Dish/Baker is made from a stoneware clay with slip decoration; the shell markings are from freshwater clam shells reacting with the surface creating 'man-made fossil' imprints.  It has been fired in a wood/soda kiln to 1300c. The handle is iron stone tied with copper wire. Each piece is unique; a reflection of our approach to the work and firing processes. 

Size:  16cm dia. x 12cm (holds 1/3 of large block of butter)

Due to the stone and copper the top is not microwavable but can be used in the oven.  Hand wash only. Oven Care Instructions:  NEVER place a cold baker in a hot oven or on a hot cooktop.  Place cold baker (NOT FROZEN) into cold oven and bring up heat slowly.
