Blossom Ball (Oil Lamp)

This Blossom Ball is made from a white stoneware with crackle slip, iron wash and copper red glaze; the shell markings are from freshwater clam shells reacting with the surface creating 'man-made fossil' imprints.  It is multiple-fired; the final firing in a wood/soda kiln to 1300c.  Each piece is unique; a reflection of our approach to the work and firing processes. 

It can hold water for flowers or paraffin lamp oil for an oil lamp.  The wick (included) is made from fibreglass and will not wear out.  Flowers not included.
